Welcome to the very first issue of the RealDoll Newsletter, "The Doll Street Journal"! We will try to post a new issue each month, to keep you all informed of the new things going on here, new products that are available, and special sales and clearance items. Here you will also see a "Doll of the Month" in each issue, to showcase the many different dolls we can and do make, as well as a "How To" section with simple instructions for a variety of things you may be wondering about, such as how to change the eyes and wigs to how to use the various repair kits. We are always open to suggestions too, so if you have a burning question you'd like to see answered in an upcoming issue, just send Amanda an email at amanda@realdoll.com.

Doll of the Month

Angela - face 10/body 7

Hi, everybody! My name is Angela, and as you can tell from the headline, I am a face 10/body 7 doll. I have the Light African skin tone, dark brown eyes, and my hair is auburn with highlights. I wanted to be the very first Doll of the Month because you don't get to see my face much, and lately there's been more interest being expressed in ethnic dolls. Any doll can be made in any of the five skin tones available, but some of us look better in the African tone than others (Melissa and Lisa also look very nice with this skin tone.) You can see more pictures of me in other skintones in my gallery.

Clearance Items and Specials

Wigs

We recently discontinued the following wig styles: 0703, 0705, 0707, 0712, 0713, 0715, 0719, and 0720. However, we still have a few different colors of each that we are selling for $35 each. We also have a surplus of red and light blonde wigs in several styles that will also be sold at the clearance price. We will be adding a page to our website just for clearance items, which we hope to have up and running within a week or two.

The clearance page will also feature factory imperfect dolls, which are dolls that come out of the molds with slight flaws. Each one is carefully evaluated and a lower price is set depending on the severity of the flaw. All imperfect dolls regardless of skintone will be finished with French Manicure nails and no pubic hair. When you order an imperfect doll you will still get to choose all the other options.

News and Updates

All the news that's fit to print

The new male dolls (that's right, plural - there are two!) are coming along nicely. Next month a video crew from London will be visiting the studio to make a documentary about them. Neither male doll has a name yet. We will most likely be changing the naming style to match the female dolls; namely that the bodies will be numbered and the faces will have names. Body 1 will look similar to the old Charlie body type - very defined muscles and a bulkier physique. Body 2 is a slim body with less muscle definition. There will be two faces to begin with (both Face-X like the female dolls, so they will be interchangeable) and we will release more faces as time goes on. The two dolls will make their debut at the AVN show in Las Vegas, and after that will be available for purchase through our website.

How To/Q & A

Top 5 questions we get asked

For this first issue I just wanted to quickly answer the top five most frequently asked questions, since our FAQ page can be a little tricky to navigate.

Q. How much do the dolls cost?
A. The female dolls all cost the same amount - $6,499 plus shipping. Shipping is $500 within the United States, and ranges between $850 and $1050 for international shipments depending on final destination. The male dolls will cost $6,999 plus shipping.

Q. How long will it take for me to get my doll?
A. The standard production time is 16-18 weeks, and most of the time is simply waiting your turn since we only make 6 dolls per week.

Q. Can you ship anywhere in the world?
A. Sadly, no. Due to strict customs laws, we have not been able to successfully ship dolls to South America, India, Malaysia, and the Middle East.

Q. Can you make me a doll that looks like an actress or my ex-girlfriend?
A. We cannot legally make an exact likeness doll without that person's written consent, but we can use photographs to select one of our standard faces that most closely resembles the person and match hair color and style, eye color, and makeup options to create a similar looking doll.

Q. How are the dolls shipped?
A. The dolls are shipped in very large wooden crates (about 6' x 2' x 2') that weigh about 220 pounds. Domestic shipments are delivered to your door, and international shipments are sent to the nearest customs office to your home (typically the nearest international airport.)
