Updates and Clarifications
Economy Doll and Imperfect Dolls
In the last newsletter I prematurely announced the inception of a new “economy doll” program. This has sparked quite a lot of interest, and unfortunately we are unable to accommodate the plan as originally outlined. There will still be an economy doll option, but the program has changed quite a bit. There will now be only one economy doll (the body 2/face 14 combo). She will have Medium skin, French Manicure nails, and shaved pubic hair. She will come with the 0702 wig, but you will be able to choose the color (medium blonde, brunette, or red). You will also get to choose the eye color (blue, green, or brown). Makeup will be determined by us based on the eye color. The price will be $5,499, and the lead time will be about 4-6 weeks. We are not able to mass produce these dolls and have them in stock for immediate purchase, unfortunately, but we will continually produce them so the lead time will be shorter. Please note that the program is not officially available yet. We still need to update the website with the appropriate order form and make sure we have all the logistics of the program worked out. When it is ready we will make an announcement on our website and on The Doll Forum.
In a similar vein, our imperfect doll program has also undergone a face-lift. From time to time dolls will come out of their molds with small imperfections that prevent us from selling them at full price. In the past they were available for a small discount and could still be fully customized. What we are doing now is finishing the imperfect dolls completely, with faces, makeup, and wigs. Absolutely no customization will be allowed. These dolls will be sold “as is” on a first come, first serve basis for $5000 plus shipping. Because these dolls are discounted so much already, we cannot offer free shipping on them. The body/face combos and makeup options will always be the same. For example, a body 1 will always be finished with a Britney face with a pre-determined makeup set. Body 2s will always get a Rui face. Innovations
RealDoll 2
RealDoll 2 made its debut at the AVN show last month in Las Vegas. The doll shown there was a prototype and not in its final form. We are still working out the last few issues and hope to have it available for purchase within the next month or two. Unfortunately we cannot make any promises. Again, when it is officially available we will make an announcement on our website and on The Doll Forum.
RD2 features several upgrades, the most notable being that it is made of platinum silicone, which is a much stronger and more durable material. It also features the removable inserts and magnet face system that the Boy Toy Dolls have. The oral cavity has been increased to almost seven inches for RD2 – by far the deepest cavity found on any doll on the market. RD2 has two brand new faces made specifically for it. They are known as Carmen and Michelle (Michelle is shown in the photograph). So far two RD1 faces have been retrofitted with magnets to make them compatible with RD2 (Jenny and Britney). Other faces may be retrofitted in the future.

Male Doll Debut
Last month most of the staff of Abyss traveled to Las Vegas to attend the annual Adult Entertainment Expo. The show was a success, and a lot of fun. We debuted the RD2 and the two new male dolls. This picture shows the male body 2 with the Nick face (modeled after Matt McMullen.) The Nick Black face was specifically created to show our capability for making exact lookalike faces of real people. This seems to have paid off as we have been contacted by the manager of a prominent comedian who is a regular performer in Las Vegas about the possibility of having a likeness face made. We have always had the ability to make exact likeness faces, but it’s a very involved process that requires written consent of the person to be copied, which is why we have not released a line of celebrity or porn star faces.
The other male face is called Michael, and the other body is more muscular, similar to the physique of Charlie. 
Both male heads are interchangeable, and are full heads, unlike the female faces. This is so you can have a bald doll if you like without an unsightly face seam. We do not have an exact release date for either the male dolls or RD2 yet, but we hope to make them available for purchase within the next month or so. Keep checking our website periodically for updates.
The show was smaller than last year’s, from what I understand, but it was still busy and full of interesting people and companies. Our booth had a steady stream of visitors, including several porn stars who put on shows with our male flat back torso (nothing too racy – the show has rules against that!) showing how much fun can be had with the torso and penis attachment even without the assumed use. Matt gave several interviews to various media representatives in a variety of formats: newspaper, radio, and television.
Also at the show we got to meet a few doll owners and met with several companies that make very interesting products that we may be able to combine with our dolls. We are exploring several exciting partnership deals. Nothing has been set in stone yet, so I won’t make any formal announcements in this issue. Most likely I will be able to reveal more details in the Spring 2009 newsletter.
New Offerings
Flatback Torso Head Kit, Care Video, Second Hand Doll Kit
Our newest offering is this head attachment piece for the female flatback torso. Now you can add any of our beautiful faces to your flatback torso! This kit is available for $100 by itself, or $50 with the purchase of a face. The form fits right up against the neck of the flatback torso and can be permanently attached with high strength silicone adhesive (one tube of which is included with the purchase of the form.) The form is available in all our standard skin tones so it will match your existing torso. You can purchase this item on our Accessories page.
Also coming soon will be a series of basic care videos for the dolls, with clear demonstrations on a wide variety of topics from how to unpack your doll to how to change the wigs and eyes. Once the videos have all been made we will put them all on one DVD and sell it on our Accessories page for $20. This will most likely take a few more weeks and we aim to have the DVD compilation available for sale within the next month. The separate videos will also be made available on our website via streaming video as part of a subscription service.
We are also introducing a new kit specifically for people who purchase their dolls second hand. This kit will include a care guide, silicone repair kit, labia repair kit, nipple-lip-nail repair kit, a cleaning kit, a tongue, replacement velcro circles for the face, a bottle of perfume, and detailed instructions so you will be able to make your second hand doll as good as new. This kit will be added to our Accessories page within the next week and will cost $200.
We get a lot of questions about the exact materials used in our dolls. Just to clarify, the dolls are currently made of tin cure silicone, although within the next six months they will all be made of platinum silicone because it is a superior material. All of the joints are stainless steel. We encase the finger wires in thin plastic tubing to help prevent poke throughs, but we want to remind everyone that the fingers are the weakest part of the doll due to the silicone being so thin. Finger wire pokes can be avoided by always moving the fingers gently and slowly, but if one occurs it is a very easy repair. The plastic casing also helps make the wire blunter so if it does poke through you won’t be scratched by it.
